Courtney Seidl has been a part of the Molded Dimensions Group team in Marshfield for more than 18 years, and currently serves as the company’s Controller. We recently sat down with Courtney to learn more about her roles and her responsibilities within the organization.
Tell us a bit about your past experience and current role.
Working here was my first job out of college. A wonderful lady named Donna hired me, and I am so grateful for her. She took a chance on me, took me under her wing, and taught me everything she knows. So much of who I am in my career is due to her.
What does a typical day as Controller look like?
I’m not sure I’m your typical controller! I wear many hats here. My day usually starts out with analyzing costs and shipments from the prior day. The middle of my day varies and can depend on if it’s a payroll week or end of the month. I could be working on HR matters, entering payables, cutting checks, etc. And my day always ends with invoicing.
Tell us about an experience that made you feel like you belonged at Molded Dimensions Group.
No matter what, when you work for more than 18 years at the same company, there will be good days and some challenging days. However, in the end, it is the people that make my job enjoyable and why I’ve been here for so long.
Why do you like living in the Marshfield, WI area?
I’ll admit that I am a city girl at heart. However, I love that I’m close to my family and friends, and that is important to me.
Why do you like working at Molded Dimensions Group?
I like that over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try many things, even if my job description and title has remained pretty much the same. I’ve had the ability to go outside of accounting and dabble in other areas. My favorite was working on tradeshows a number of years ago, which allowed me to tap into my more creative side.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a foodie, so I love checking out restaurants and trying new things. Enjoying a great brunch is my favorite.
Do you have any secret talents?
It’s not really a secret, but I love cooking. Some of my earliest memories are cooking with my Grandma and Great Aunt.
