“People, infrastructure and products are the keys to the success of Molded Dimensions,” said Brian Sprinkman in 2021. That continues to be the case as the company added employees and achieved record production volume last year. In the past four months, Molded Dimensions acquired two companies, further expanding its manufacturing capabilities and reach.

Here’s a reflection with Brian Sprinkman.

With 2021 in the rearview mirror, share with us the highlights that remain top of mind for you?
“First of all, I’m incredibly proud of our employees — both new and existing — for rallying through Covid. Our team, in addition to our customers and suppliers, were constantly presented with changes and improvements, which included new additions to company leadership. We achieved record volume in our production output — shattering previous highs set in 2018. Overall, 2021 was a banner year for us.”

The company also grew significantly with two acquisitions in the last four months.
“PCO Urethane became part of the Molded Dimensions family in November. This acquisition allows us to expand our urethane capabilities and extend our footprint for some niche-branded products in addition to the custom work they provide. The PCO workforce and facility in Marshfield are top notch. PCO Urethane’s and our urethane offerings are incredibly complimentary, which allows us to provide the marketplace with a truly one-stop urethane solution. We have hit the ground running with them and have already seen a number of manufacturing successes.

“We took over ownership of GlobalTech in January and they are an incredible company. The Seattle/Tacoma location is ideal for establishing a West Coast presence and gives us the opportunity to bring injection molded plastic capabilities to our existing customer base. On the flip side, GlobalTech’s customers now have an additional resource for molded rubber and urethane parts and components. The acquisitions provide us with an expanded customer base for Molded Dimensions to distribute more of our proven products and services across more businesses and industries.”

What else is on the horizon for Molded Dimensions in the coming year?
“Molded Dimensions is all about satisfying the needs of existing customers as we grow our group of companies. Supply chain issues will continue to be leading world news in 2022. We hired a veteran supply chain manager to help us further develop our supplier relationships. Our companies have a variety of IT systems in need of updates or upgrades. We are implementing a new ERP system this year and we now have a dedicated team to see it through. We continue to invest in talented people, equipment and technology.”

Any parting words?
“I’ve been CEO of Molded Dimensions for 18 months now, and I am thankful to everyone who’s supported me along the way. This organization has experienced a tremendous shift since I came on board and we are managing the significant growth of the business incredibly well. I’m impressed with our leadership team and our employees who pivot in a new direction when needed. It’s rewarding to work alongside a great team that moves forward together. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish this year.”
